StorLogic Signs Distribution Agreement With Ingram Micro for StorCom.e NAS Appliances

Next-Generation NAS Appliances Well Suited for the Channel

LAKE MARY, Fla., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- StorLogic, Inc., the leader in storage networking technology, today announced it has signed an agreement with Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE:IM) , the largest global provider of wholesale technology products and services, that will allow Ingram Micro to immediately distribute StorLogic's award-winning line of StorCom.e Network Attached Storage (NAS) appliances in the U.S.

The StorCom.e NAS appliances, uniquely based on Microsoft's Windows NT Embedded 4.0, combine superior performance with plug-and-play simplicity and manageability to deliver truly optimized server functionality and productivity. Multi-client connectivity and high capacity storage allow heterogeneous users to easily share and manage data over the network or Internet. When compared with traditional servers and direct-attached storage, StorLogic's StorCom.e NAS solutions perform far more efficiently, robustly and cost-effectively.

"Given the forecasted growth of this market, the new StorLogic NAS appliances are a great addition to Ingram Micro's high-end storage offering," said Jodi Honore, vice president of product management and general manager of storage and components, Ingram Micro U.S. "This line of NAS solutions provide our Value-Added Reseller (VAR), corporate reseller and Internet Service Provider (ISP) customers with a comprehensive, single-vendor product offering tailored to meet the NAS business needs of their end-user customers."

"By including Ingram Micro in our distribution strategy, StorLogic gains access to a broad range of technology resellers and builds on a relationship that offers customers superior product service and support," said Sean McInerney, director of channel sales for StorLogic. "Ingram Micro has built an enviable reputation on its storage expertise and this strength makes them an excellent partner for StorLogic's new line of NAS products. We were especially impressed with Ingram Micro's high-end storage strategy which dedicates very well-trained technical and sales teams to this rapidly growing market."

Targeted at SOHO and workgroup environments, the 4-bay StorCom.e 4000 NAS appliance is a non-redundant system with support for up to 292GBs of NAS storage. For larger departmental and enterprise environments, the redundant 10-bay StorCom.e 10000 supports up to 730GBs of NAS storage and features dual power supplies, fans and RAID controllers for enhanced system availability, reliability and data redundancy respectively.

According to Robert Gray, Research Director of Storage Systems for IDC, "Supporting scalable capacity points between 18GBs and 730GBs, StorLogic's new StorCom.e NAS appliance can be deployed either as a dedicated function or multifunction appliance. This approach significantly increases appliance deployment opportunities for the Channel and thus, provides a higher value- add. Products like these should be well received by the Channel."
