Preview Systems' Digital Goods Commerce Solution Enables Ingram Micro To Offer Premium Software Downloads to Online Retailers

Best Selling Products From Artisoft, Canon, FileMaker, Lotus, Macromedia, NetObjects, Network Associates, Symantec and Others Now Offered As Digital Downloads Through Online Retailers

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Preview Systems (NASDAQ:PRVW) and Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE:IM) today announced an expansion in the availability of premium software titles for online purchase and digital download by online retail customers of Ingram Micro Inc. Adding to its substantial library of downloadable products, Ingram Micro uses Preview's technology to offer online retailers the ability to securely sell and instantaneously fulfill popular software applications.

Ingram Micro already distributes physical inventory for many of the world's top software publishers. Recently, Ingram Micro expanded its fulfillment capabilities to also include digital downloads from many of these publishers.

Leading retailers have already partnered with Ingram Micro to sell digital software downloads. Immediately following a purchase transaction from one of these retailer's sites, Preview's solution manages the exchange of the digital products from Ingram Micro's servers directly to the customer's PC. In many cases, Preview's solution also enables the retailers to combine physical and digital goods in the same transaction, thereby simplifying the end-user's overall online shopping experience.

"Preview Systems' solution has helped us to meet our customers' demands and streamline our business with online retailers," said Dave Nalley, vice president and general manager of the consumer and Internet markets division at Ingram Micro. "We now offer a more comprehensive service to our customers by providing fast access to physical goods coupled with secure, real-time fulfillment capabilities for digital goods."

Added Preview Systems CEO Vincent Pluvinage, "Software publishers, record labels, distributors, service providers and retailers have already adopted Preview's digital goods commerce solution and are selling premium titles as digital downloads. Preview's technology is the link that connects these respective channel partners to a global e-commerce network so they can leverage their existing business relationships and quickly implement their digital goods e-commerce strategies."

In addition to Ingram Micro, other companies in Preview's e-commerce network include Symantec, Macromedia, FileMaker, Network Associates, NetObjects, The Learning Company, EMI Recorded Music, Navarre, Supertracks, Reciprocal, Musicland, buy.com, Beyond.com and many others.
