Nimax Rolls Out Practice Group to Facilitate AIDC/POS and RFID Solution Provider Growth
Distributor Targets Ease of Business and New Business Through Enhanced Customer Offerings

SAN DIEGO, Nov 08, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Nimax, a division of Ingram Micro (NYSE: IM) and the only AIDC/POS-focused distributor to provide access to comprehensive IT solutions, today announces the launch of its Data Capture Practice Group, which was created to increase knowledge sharing, and drive growth through business leads and extending the services capabilities of Nimax and Ingram Micro customers.

Nimax officially unveiled its Data Capture Practice Group in September to a targeted list of AIDC/POS and RFID-focused integrators and is now recruiting key integrator customers as service providers. The practice group will provide expertise and data-capture services that can be tapped by Ingram Micro and Nimax solution providers.

The first organization of its kind in the data capture industry, the group will deliver professional and break/fix services support for AIDC/POS and RFID deals through the Ingram Micro Services Network (IMSN). The IMSN is a world-class technical services delivery business providing pre- and post-sales professional, consultative, and break/fix services across 800 North American markets.

The practice group will help to drive business development through shared leads, and by delivering implementation and design knowledge from service providers to fellow integrators who have landed deals that involve the data-capture technologies. In 2006, the services of practice group members will be available to all markets that IMSN serves.

All participants must be signed members of IMSN to take advantage of sales leads and implementation support. IMSN is offering a shortened application process for lead-only members, and service providers are being certified in their area of expertise. Interested solution providers should call their Nimax or Ingram Micro sales representative for more information.

Opening Doors To New Markets

In addition to the new practice group, Nimax has delivered a number of value-add and customer service enhancements in response to solution provider needs. Improvements benefiting Nimax's solution providers include those highlighted below:

* One-Stop-Shop For Complete Solutions -- Combined access to Nimax's portfolio and Ingram Micro's vast IT product sets

* Value-Add Field and Technical Resources -- Nimax customers benefit from a knowledgeable and comprehensive sales and engineering field coverage

* Growing Vendor And Product Lines -- Expanded offering of key vendors such IBM and Microsoft POS, Cisco networking/wireless and SonicWALL security solutions

* New Phone System -- Improved call routing for more efficient business transactions with Nimax sales, technical support and customer service depts.

* New Web Site (Upcoming) -- The new Nimax.com Web site -- to launch to all Nimax customers in Q4 -- will provide online ordering, product comparisons, order management and purchasing history information

"Nimax is focused on offering the most comprehensive set of products and solutions, in addition to providing the best customer support and value add in the industry," said John Soumbasakis, vice president and general manager, Nimax division. "Our ongoing efforts over the last year and a half are resulting in a true ease-of-doing-business experience for our customers."

Since becoming a division of Ingram Micro in July 2004, Nimax has built up its product portfolio, leveraged Ingram Micro vendor relationships to expand its IT-product offering, teamed up with IMSN -- the channel's leading services organization, and has aligned its internal organization with Ingram Micro's for better information sharing and streamlined business processes.

"Nimax has hit its stride and is building momentum in the marketplace," said Keith Bradley, president, Ingram Micro North America. "Solution providers in the AIDC, POS and the growing RFID space are beginning to understand the value of the combined forces of Nimax and Ingram Micro."
