National Registry and Key Tronic Expand Relationships with Ingram Micro and Merisel; Distributors Provide Additional Outlets for Marketing NRI's Biometric Solutions

TAMPA, Fla., June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Moving ahead with plans to make their finger-imaging solutions more readily available in the marketplace, The National Registry Inc. (NASDAQ:NRID) and Key Tronic Corporation (NASDAQ:KTCC) today announced that they will fill initial orders for two top distributors within the next 30 days.

NRI and Key Tronic just announced that Ingram Micro and Merisel will distribute their line of biometric solutions throughout the United States. Today's announcement falls on the heels of a similar agreement with Tech Data Corporation, who also will distribute the NRI/Key Tronic finger-imaging technology.

"We are excited about the opportunity to offer this complete range of security solutions to our reseller customers," said Jennifer Proulx, senior director of Product Marketing at Ingram Micro. "We have a long-standing relationship with Key Tronic and are confident that these biometric solutions will further enhance our broad offering of quality products."

As part of Key Tronic's and NRI's expanded distribution strategy, the distributor relationships will enhance and expedite the widespread adoption of finger-imaging technology as a log-on replacement for PINS and passwords.

"Passwords and pins are easily lost, forgotten or compromised and no longer serve as a viable security option to companies with critical data on their computer networks," said John L. Gustafson, NRI president and CEO.

"National Registry and Key Tronic offer the low-cost security solutions that corporations need to operate a secure network in today's environment. And, by expanding our relationships with top-notch distributors we're confident that demand for National Registry's products will experience significant growth in the reseller channel and ultimately be more easily available to the corporate end-user."

NRI's software works in conjunction with Key Tronic's Secure line of finger-image scanners. The combined solution offers a positive identification method that significantly reduces fraud and unauthorized access to corporate intranets and extranets.

The finger-imaging product line also is currently the only biometric solution which Ingram Micro, Merisel, and Tech Data offer to their reseller and retail partners.
