SANTA ANA, Calif., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- "Ingram Micro today encountered a suspicious parcel at our Millington, Tenn., facility," said Kevin Murai, president, Ingram Micro U.S. "We are currently conducting a full investigation, contacting both the local and federal authorities. As always, we are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our associates, our customers and manufacturing partners. As a result, at 12:30 p.m. CDT, we evacuated approximately 400 associates who were working in the facility at the time and immediately suspended shipments. At 6:30 p.m. CDT, FEMA and the local fire authorities determined the building was safe and we resumed operations."
Ingram Micro has five distribution centers strategically located around the U.S. "Customers normally working with this facility were served by Ingram Micro facilities located in Chicago, Dallas and Harrisburg, Pa., which is normal operating procedure when one of our facilities is temporarily closed. Service levels to our customers and manufacturing partners were not impacted," Murai added.
