Telecom Integration Division Enters the Structured Wiring Arena, Also Announces New Relationships with Key Partners
LOS ANGELES, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Ingram Micro Inc.'s Telecom Integration Division announced today two new distribution agreements with Cortelco Kellogg and Global Data Supply (GDS). The agreements launch the world's leading wholesale distributor of technology products and services into the structured wiring arena, allowing its resellers to provide the specialty networking and wiring needed to enable data and voice equipment.
"We are very excited to bring our VARs and Interconnects the missing piece they need to complete the computer telephony integration (CTI) puzzle -- structured wiring, because wiring supports the backbone of any voice/data solution," said Laura Skinner, vice president and general manager of Ingram Micro's Telecom Integration Division.
"Wiring is a new offering for us, and it represents an incremental business opportunity for our resellers. Many times, after selling their end user a full complement of hardware, software and CTI tools, resellers have to outsource the wiring of the job. This will no longer be a missed opportunity. Now, resellers can purchase wire, cabling, connectors and modular hardware at Ingram Micro, the same place they turn to for CTI solutions - demonstrating Ingram Micro's commitment to become a one-stop shop," she said.
Ingram Micro resellers can now choose wiring from Cortelco Kellogg or GDS. Cortelco offers Category 5 copper cabling and wire management products and GDS offers a full complement of copper and fiber wiring, including cable management, premise wire components, connectors, networking products, fiber optics products, racks, tools and test equipment.
Said Ingram Micro customer and CTI consortium member Dan Testa, president of Springfield, Va.-based Telecommunications Concepts Inc., "Structured wiring is a great addition to Ingram Micro's current CTI product offering. It eliminates the need for resellers like us, who currently offer structured wiring, to call on more than one partner to fulfill our needs and it brings Ingram Micro one step closer to becoming a provider of complete telecom and data solutions."
In addition, Ingram Micro will distribute Cortelco's single line telephones and telephone systems, as well as accessories. The company will also carry GDS networking equipment for LAN and WAN hardware products for data and voice.
"We are excited about being one of Ingram Micro's charter wiring suppliers, and bringing our full line of solutions to Ingram Micro's resellers. With the convergence of voice and data, the Ingram Micro-Cortelco alliance will complement our business and provide an expanded communications solution to a broader range of users," said Jim Hopper, president and chief executive officer, Cortelco Kellogg, in Corinth, MS.
Said Jonas Haro, vice president of sales for GDS, "We are pleased to partner with Ingram Micro to bring our products to the reseller market. We can provide the hardware equipment for data and voice, as well as the networking and cabling needed to enable the equipment. This is a true value-add for Ingram Micro customers."
