Ingram Micro Partners with AltiGen Communications to Deliver Computer-Based Telephony Solutions

SANTA ANA, Calif., Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE:IM) , the world's leading wholesale distributor of technology products and services, today announced that it has entered into a distribution agreement with Fremont, Calif.-based AltiGen Communications, a leading provider of computer telephony (CT) solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, Ingram Micro's Telecom Integration Division will distribute AltiGen's award-winning AltiServ(TM) all-in-one telecommunications platform to its network of more than 40,000 domestic resellers.

AltiGen's CT solution consists of the "all-in-one" Quantum board family and AltiWare telecommunication suite of features and functionality most requested by small businesses. The agreement allows companies with up to 100 telephones to implement a robust and flexible communications system, that includes traditional telephone system functionality along with automated voice attendant, voice messaging, automatic call distribution (ACD) and electronic mail and Internet integration on a single PC.

"We are excited at the opportunity to offer AltiServ to our reseller customers," said Laura Skinner, vice president and general manager of Ingram Micro's Telecom Integration Division. "Our partnership with AltiGen allows us to give our reseller customers the convergence technology solutions they have been asking for. It has been our goal to provide a complete computer telephony solution and we see the AltiServ as the heart of that solution."

Computer telephony solutions offer a huge business opportunity for Ingram Micro resellers and AltiGen is working with Ingram Micro on customized channel education, training and marketing that will help meet the demands of their customers.

"This agreement is a testament to our commitment to the distribution channel," said Michele Shannon, vice president of sales for AltiGen. "Ingram Micro's Telecom Integration Division has an excellent reputation for building and supporting their VARs. We are excited to have this opportunity to partner with them and provide the CT component that will complete their product offering and solution strategy."

AltiGen also provides a comprehensive training CD allowing authorized resellers to get up to speed on CT technologies at their own pace, without leaving the office. Additionally, the CD serves as a sales tool for resellers to use with end users. It includes detailed information about AltiGen, its products, frequently asked questions and a self-running, animated demo. Resellers also can use this CD to customize proposals for end users using the documents included on the CD.
