Ingram Micro Names Bob Laclede Vice President and General Manager, Government and Education Division

WASHINGTON, April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE:IM) , the world's largest wholesale provider of technology products and services, today announced that Bob Laclede has been promoted to vice president and general manager, government and education division. Laclede's position has been expanded from his duties as vice president and general manager of Ingram Micro's premium south commercial division.

Laclede, who will be based at the company's Washington, D.C. - area offices, brings to his new position more than 25 years experience in the government sales and distribution sector. He will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the division and overseeing new programs for federal, state and local government, as well as education resellers. Laclede will focus on programs with specific emphasis on expanding the company's presence in the state and local government and education markets.

"Bob has an extensive knowledge of this market, its customers and resellers," said Pat Collins, senior vice president of sales, Ingram Micro. "His sales management skills will be invaluable to the government and education division as we continue to expand our operations."

Prior to joining Ingram Micro Laclede served as vice president of sales for Virginia-based Decision Support Systems. He also worked as director of the federal market at Tandem Computers Incorp. (now Compaq Computer Corp.) in Cupertino, Calif., where he began his long track record of growing government businesses.

Laclede will supervise the division's team of program, support and operations associates, as well as its sales team, which exclusively targets the government and education markets.

Laclede holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from Tulane University in New Orleans and a master's degree in computer systems management from the Naval Postgraduate school in Monterey, Calif.
