Ingram Micro Launches Nimax Canada
Ingram Micro Canada Enters AIDC/POS Market - Launches Nimax Canada Division

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Leading technology sales, marketing and logistics company, Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), today announced it has launched its Nimax division in Canada offering automatic identification and data capture/point-of-sale (AIDC/POS), barcode and wireless technology solutions, as well as enterprise mobility solutions. With the addition of Canada, Nimax will now provide services and support to solution providers and systems integrators throughout North America.

Vaughan Field, senior manager, sales, will head the division in Canada and work closely with the company's Nimax divisions in the United States, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Together with a dedicated Nimax Canada team, Field will leverage the company's established vertical market and technology solutions, such as healthcare, retail, supply chain logistics, manufacturing and the public sector to gain entry into a high-growth adjacent market. The team also will focus on expanding the company's wireless, networking and storage offerings to bring new partnership opportunities to Canadian manufacturers, solution providers and systems integrators. Field reports jointly to Ingram Micro Canada's General Manager, Murray Wright and Ingram Micro's Vice President, Corporate Business Development, John Soumbasakis.

"With our focus on the AIDC/POS market, we're not only achieving profitable growth for Ingram Micro, we're helping our customers gain access to a whole new set of technology solutions and expertise," said Kevin Murai, president, Ingram Micro Inc. "The Nimax division will provide Canadian customers with services and support resources that will expand their market reach, generate new sales opportunities and provide the ease of one-stop shopping for technology products and services."

"Symbol is pleased that our customers will continue to experience the same level of service from Nimax, a division of Ingram Micro in Canada, that they have been able to receive in other parts of the world," said Jan Burton, vice president, channel sales, Symbol Technologies. "The acquisition of Nimax by Ingram Micro has allowed Nimax to offer a vertical market presence in all Canadian geographies -- ultimately helping to provide our customers with a vertical market focus while leveraging the global logistics."

The Nimax division offers solution providers and systems integrators a one-stop shop for technology solutions for retail, logistics, healthcare, supply chain logistics and the public sector. In addition, Canada's Nimax division will work closely with Ingram Micro's customer communities such as the VentureTech Network (VTN) and the Ingram Micro Service Network (IMSN). The company will partner solution providers with AIDC/POS specialists to capture new sales opportunities throughout Canada.

"As a market maker, Ingram Micro capitalizes on adjacent market opportunities to differentiate our products and services and provide customers with higher value. Our team will provide the services and support for a greater percentage of AIDC/POS, wireless, networking and storage business flowing through the Canadian IT channel," said Wright.

For manufacturers, services and products offered through the division will expand customer reach and build incremental market share opportunities. The division is currently reviewing select vendor line cards for AIDC/POS, wireless networking, hardware and software solutions.
