Ingram Micro Latin American President to Retire
                    10-Year Company Veteran Asger Falstrup
Led Operations in Northern Europe and Canada Before Moving to Latin America

Regional CFO David Schoenberger Named Interim President

SANTA ANA, Calif., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ingram Micro (NYSE: IM) today announced the retirement of Asger Falstrup, senior vice president, Ingram Micro Inc. and president, Ingram Micro Latin America, effective Dec. 31, 2004. Falstrup will provide guidance and advice to the region through a consulting agreement until May 31, 2005.

David Schoenberger, the region's chief financial officer, will become interim president of Ingram Micro Latin America on Jan. 1, 2005. He will work closely with Falstrup through the end of May to ensure a smooth transition.

"Asger has a 25-year history in technology and is considered one of the most knowledgeable professionals in our industry," said Kevin M. Murai, president, Ingram Micro Inc. "He co-founded a firm that became one of the largest IT distributors in the Nordic region of Europe, which Ingram Micro purchased in 1994. Asger immediately became a valuable member of our management team. He rose from managing director for our Denmark operation to vice president of the Nordic region before becoming president of Ingram Micro Canada in January 2000, where he developed initiatives, such as our game console business, that continue to drive success today. Three years ago, he was promoted to president of Latin America. He led the region during a period of economic and organizational change, transforming an operating loss to an operating profit that reached 122 basis points last quarter. He's a great leader and colleague, and he will be sincerely missed. We're fortunate, however, to have a strong professional like David to step in as interim president."

Schoenberger joined Ingram Micro in September 2003 after three years as chief financial officer of Verizon Information Systems. Previously, he was chief financial officer for a large Venezuelan telecommunications company and has held accounting positions in Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. In his interim role, he will lead a region that serves multiple countries in South America, Central America and the Caribbean through distribution operations in Mexico, Brazil and Chile and an export office in Miami. In addition to the country-based and export operations, he will also manage the regional functions of finance, legal, human resources and business development.

"Ingram Micro encourages an entrepreneurial spirit that is seldom seen in large corporations," said Falstrup. "We have a management team that nurtures ideas and is committed to superior execution. During the last 10 years, I've enjoyed seeing my ideas benefit operations around the world. My decision to retire was difficult, but I'm confident that this is the right time. The Latin America operation has improved significantly and we have a strong management team that is dedicated to success. David knows the region well and has developed good relationships with our country managers and business partners. The business is in good hands, and I'm ready to focus my attention on family and friends, many of whom live in Denmark."
