Ingram Micro Honored with Corporate Leadership Award by Niagara University

Technology Distributor Recognized by College of Business Administration for Business Success, Integrity and Service in the Community

BUFFALO, N.Y. – May 11, 2017Ingram Micro Inc. today announced it has earned the 2017 Corporate Leadership Award presented by Niagara University’s College of Business Administration.

The company’s Buffalo, N.Y. campus was honored during the College of Business Administration’s 27th annual Business Appreciation and Accounting Banquet, held on April 20 at the Conference Center Niagara Falls. The awards highlighted five local business leaders, both individuals and businesses, who have made significant contributions through their business success, integrity and social responsibility in Niagara County.

Ingram Micro has been a supporter of Niagara University since the Buffalo campus, considered the primary sales hub for the distributor's U.S. sales force and customer support teams opened in 1982. Five years ago, Ingram Micro increased its efforts by assembling a team of leaders from across the company to focus on identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to engage with Niagara University’s students, faculty and staff. With the assistance of Associate Professor of Management, Dr. Lisa Williams and the university’s career services department, these efforts have led Ingram Micro to achieve a regular presence on the campus, from hosting classroom panel discussions and speaking engagements to meeting one-on-one with students for career preparation and mentoring.

“We are honored to be the recipient of the college’s prestigious Corporate Leadership Award and to be recognized as a company that continually achieves its goals by enhancing the success of its business partners, and staying true to our corporate and social values,” said Jeff Streb, director, human resources and learning and development for Ingram Micro. “Ingram Micro has teamed with Niagara University for more than 30 years and The College of Business Administration does an outstanding job preparing current and future business professionals to learn, serve, and lead with integrity—all similar values of Ingram Micro. We look forward to continuing our support of Niagara University, now and in the future.”

Giving back to the communities in which we operate is an integral part of Ingram Micro’s commitment to social responsibility. The company’s engagement efforts include employee volunteering, corporate giving and disaster relief contributions.

In 2016 Ingram Micro's Buffalo-based employees raised more than $400,000 for charitable organizations such as Roswell Park Cancer Institute, United Way, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Hasek’s Heroes, SABAH and the Boys & Girls Club. In addition, the campus was honored with the Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara’s 2017 Business Award in March and was named one of the "Best Places to Work" by Buffalo Business First last month.
