Ingram Micro General Counsel to Retire

James E. Anderson, Jr. Played an Integral Role in the Company's Growth and Success; Larry Boyd Named Acting General Counsel

SANTA ANA, Calif., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) today announced the retirement of James E. Anderson, Jr., senior vice president, secretary and general counsel, effective Jan. 31, 2004.

Anderson, 56, joined Ingram Micro in January 1996 and was instrumental in the company's successful initial public offering later that year. He was one of the key architects of the company's global expansion, overseeing the legal aspects of acquisitions in Canada, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Most recently, he was part of the leadership team that created Ingram Micro's profit-enhancement program, which has increased operating income significantly this year.

Effective Feb. 1, 2004, Larry C. Boyd, senior vice president, legal services, Ingram Micro U.S., will become acting general counsel while the company conducts an internal and external search for a permanent replacement. Boyd joined the company in January 2000 after serving as a partner of the law firm of Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher in Irvine, Calif.
