Ingram Micro Earns Top Honors - Recognized as Most Strategic Distribution Partner
Leading Technology Distributor Named No. 1 Preferred Broadline Distributor, Most Sourced Distributor and Most Strategic Broadline Distributor by More Than 1,200 Solution Providers in 2006 CRN Sourcing Study

SANTA ANA, Calif., Sept 18, 2006 /PRNewswire via COMTEX News Network/ -- Leading global technology distributor Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) announced today that it has been recognized by solution providers and leading IT channel news source CRN with three key accolades in the 21st annual CRN Sourcing Study. The honors include:

* No. 1 Preferred Broadline Distributor
* Most Sourced Distributor (Overall)
* Most Strategic Broadline Distributor

The 2006 CRN Sourcing Study, conducted in August 2006, is derived from a web-based research study of more than 1,200 solution providers. Each year, the study reveals changing trends in the way solution providers source products, as well as the performance metrics most important to solution providers in evaluating and working with distributors and other technology product sourcing partners. Solution providers rate product sources based on such criteria as logistics, product availability, and technical support, as well as on human factors, including customer service and loyalty.

"Ingram Micro is a valued distribution partner to tens of thousands of solution providers across North America. Our mission is to be a strategic business partner to our solution provider customers. We continue to use the feedback from the CRN Sourcing Study and other research to improve the services, support, resources and products our partners need to better manage, maintain and grow their business profitably year-over-year," said Keith Bradley, president, Ingram Micro North America. "It is an honor to be recognized by CRN for the important role that Ingram Micro plays in helping our solution provider partners better service their customers and ultimately capture new market opportunities and revenue streams. We will continue to work hard to earn the business and loyalty of our solution provider partners."

Results from the CRN Sourcing Study, including the performance of the top preferred sources overall, is showcased in the Sept. 18 issue of CRN and can also be found online at www.crn.com.
