Ingram Micro to Distribute VitalSigns' Net.Medic and Net.Medic Pro to Major Office Retailers Nationwide

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- VitalSigns Software, Inc., a leading provider of end-to-end, application-to-wire network performance and fault management tools, has signed Ingrain Micro Inc. (NYSE:IM) to distribute its Net.Medic and Net.Medic Pro products to major business supply stores and retail chains nationwide.

Through the agreement, VitalSigns will gain additional exposure for its consumer products by leveraging Ingram Micro's established relationships with some of North America's most prominent business retailers. Net.Medic and Net.Medic Pro are already available to end users through electronic commerce outlets and various software retailers.

Net.Medic is the industry's first Web utility that proactively monitors, diagnoses and corrects Internet performance problems for end users. Designed for use with today's most popular Web browsers, Net.Medic determines the source of Internet bottlenecks and delays, whether caused by the user's PC or modem, the Internet service provider (ISP), the Internet backbone, or the remote Web server. The application also recommends solutions to the problems it encounters and, in some cases, even fixes them for the user.

Net.Medic Pro, designed for Webmasters, network managers and ISPs, utilizes the same agent technology as Net.Medic while offering automated services that allow users to test their systems for efficiency and performance. The application can be programmed to automatically dial up user-specified modem pools or Web sites and report the results back to the user, providing historical records that detect negative trends or other potential problems.

"We are extremely excited to be working with Ingram Micro," said VitalSigns vice president of corporate marketing,, Tom Hogan. "They have made a tremendous commitment to their resellers, resulting in some of the most innovative programs in the industry. Their Tech Notes program, for example, utilizes the Web to provide partners worldwide with the latest product information. Such technological leadership makes them a natural partner for VitalSigns."

"We're proud to be distributing VitalSigns products such as Net.Medic and Net.Medic Pro," added Michael McAndrews, product manager at Ingram Micro. VitalSigns has established itself as a leader in the burgeoning Web utilities industry, earning a number of awards over the last several months. "From the CommerceNet award, which recognized VitalSigns as a leader in electronic commerce, to the PC Computing MVP Award for Net.Medic, VitalSigns is making its mark within the industry," said McAndrews.
