FAIRFIELD, Conn., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Linkon Corporation (BULLETIN BOARD: LKON) and Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE:IM) have entered into a distributorship agreement for Linkon Corporation's LinkNet(TM) IP Telephony Gateway.

"Linkon is delighted to have been selected by Ingram Micro for distribution. We are excited about providing Ingram Micro's global VAR customer base with exposure and access to our LinkNet Internet telephony products," said Marc Robins, Director of Marketing for Linkon. "Our LinkNet Gateway allows Ingram's VARs to offer scalable, cutting-edge voice and fax over IP solutions to their entire customer base."

"Internet Telephony is one of the hottest telecommunications technologies on the market today, and is experiencing a period of rapid adoption and growth. This agreement will provide our telecom and datacom resellers with the means to provide their existing customers with solutions that generate a proven return on investment, as well as allow them to enter new markets," said Laura Skinner, vice president of Ingram Micro's Telecom Integration Division. "Linkon is an industry-leading innovator in Unix-based IP Telephony solutions, and we look forward to delivering those innovations to our customers."

Linkon Corporation's LinkNet IP Gateway can support from four analog channels to multiple E1/T1 digital circuits. Current LinkNet customers have deployed systems for phone-to-phone communications over satellite networks; for prepaid calling card services; for SS7 network protocol-based applications; in "Thin Client" Call Center applications using Java(TM) technology; and in Intranet and Internet-based configurations both domestically and internationally.

Linkon's LinkNet IP Telephony Gateway is the winner of the "Best of CTI Expo" award from the recent CTI Spring '98 Expo, and the company's Maestro(TM) System DSP-based communications board and companion API software toolkit products are winners of CTI Magazine's 1997 Platinum Editor's Choice award.
