Ingram Micro Delivers Industry's First Packaged Support Plans Through Its
National Service Network

New Support Plans Increase Solution Provider Revenue Opportunities While Expanding Customer Service Capabilities

SANTA ANA, Calif., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), a powerful marketing, sales and logistics company, today announced it will offer packaged support plans through the Ingram Micro Service Network (IMSN) for the majority of its desktop, notebook, servers and peripherals service agreements, giving solution providers an easy way to increase service revenue and expand their product support capabilities. The new program is available immediately to VentureTech Network and IMSN solution providers and will be extended to all Ingram Micro resellers at COMDEX in November 2003.

Under the new support plans, solution providers can access a single point of contact through the IMSN to offer their customers three-year, next business day, on-site labor coverage for a broad range of branded products. To help ensure solution providers have the right support with minimal risk, Ingram Micro also has formed an alliance with KCM, Inc., a leading provider of comprehensive equipment management solutions supporting technologies. Under the arrangement with KCM, the IMSN support plan service agreements are backed by a policy of insurance from an "A"-rated insurance company, which provides a level of service and protection not available in most other offerings.

Ingram Micro's new support program also offers its customers a multi- vendor, brand-neutral support program that extends manufacturer service from the typical one-year coverage to three years and provides 24x7 hardware diagnostic support and broad geographical coverage through IMSN. Solution providers can sell tailored support plans featuring tiered levels of service to meet customer needs.

IMSN is equipped to handle all service requests with support ranging from phone and online assistance to on-site services. The new IMSN support program also is backed by the proven expertise of Ingram Micro's TSC Help Desk, a company-branded service desk that provides diagnosis, resolutions and dispatch on multi-vendor hardware, software and networking products.
