SANTA ANA, Calif., June 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Leading technology, sales, marketing and logistics company Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) welcomes Mark K. Slater as senior vice president of legal services for its U.S. business. Effective immediately, Slater will report to Larry C. Boyd, senior vice president, corporate secretary and general counsel.
Slater joins Ingram Micro from the national law firm of Bingham McCutchen, where he practiced business and intellectual property litigation out of the company's San Francisco office. He has represented Ingram Micro in commercial disputes, copyright, trademark and insurance cases since 1988. Most notably, Slater served as lead counsel for Ingram Micro in a landmark case involving business interruption insurance coverage.
"Mark has many years of experience as a partner in a national firm and a thorough knowledge of Ingram Micro, our business and the IT channel," said Boyd. "He understands the company's goals and we are fortunate to have someone of his stature join our team."
Based in the company's Santa Ana headquarters, Slater will lead a team of U.S. legal professionals and serve as a member of the North American executive staff to help guide the region's business objectives and strategies. He replaces Boyd who was promoted in March 2004, and will relocate to Orange County.
Slater graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law, where he also completed his bachelor's degree. He is a member of the State Bar of California and the American Bar Association.
