SANTA ANA, Calif., Feb 14, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Ingram Micro (NYSE: IM), the world's largest technology distributor, today named Karen Salem as the company's senior vice president and chief information officer, effective February 21, 2005.

In her new role, Salem will be responsible for ensuring the company's business systems create an effective platform for profitable growth. She will lead a worldwide information technology organization that supports operations in 39 countries generating hundreds of thousands of transactions per day. Reporting to Kent Foster, chairman and chief executive officer, Salem will become a member of the worldwide executive team and officer of the corporation.

"We are proud and fortunate to welcome Karen to our organization," said Foster. "She has impressive experience leading organizations through periods of growth and change, and we look forward to her counsel as we position the company for the future.
