Falstrup comes to the Latin America region from Ingram Micro Canada, and previously held senior management positions with Ingram Micro in Europe. His market development experience will be combined with Reyes' financial expertise to build profitable opportunities that expand Latin American technology markets.

"Both Asger and Jorge have done a terrific job leading their respective regions. The strength of their combined expertise presents a great advantage for Ingram Micro's ongoing expansion in Latin America and the Caribbean," said Michael J. Grainger, president and chief operating officer, Ingram Micro Inc. "Jorge held a pivotal role in guiding Latin America during this transition time, while Asger's ability to build operational infrastructures and create innovative technology services and solutions will complement a strong management team."

Falstrup joined Ingram Micro Canada as president in January 2000, moving from a position he held for four years as vice president, Northern Europe, for Ingram Micro Europe. He led the Canadian region's growth and maintained its number one market share position. Additionally, he expanded the company's supply chain management service capabilities with the acquisition of GE Capital IT Solutions' image management configuration assets and a sourcing agreement with the same company for Canada. Ingram Micro Canada was also chosen to support the logistics behind large Canadian retailer Futureshop.com, acquired recently by U.S.-based Best Buy.

Ingram Micro Canada's consumer and retail markets area grew under Falstrup's tenure, expanding with an acquisition in 2000 of Beamscope Canada Inc.'s hardware and software distribution business. As the vision behind the new Xtreme division, he broadened the product offering with a gaming category for solution providers throughout Canada.

Reyes worked closely with country general managers as Ingram Micro Latin America's acting president leading day-to-day operations, while also maintaining a role as head of finance and accounting. He successfully grew the region through an acquisition in Brazil and introduction of a pan-regional e-commerce Web site for customers and manufacturers. Reyes will now return full-time to financial operations, responsible for managing financial results and supporting the region's business operations, working closely with Falstrup to drive the region's overall business strategy and performance.

Reyes came to Ingram Micro in 1998 as a 26-year veteran in global financial management. His prior positions include senior vice president and chief financial officer for Young & Rubicam, and senior finance positions with Black & Decker in Latin America.
