Michael Kelly, senior vice president of management information services (MIS), age 61, retired as an executive of the company effective May 1, 1998. The company has retained Kelly on a part-time basis, primarily for systems integration issues relating to acquisition activity.
Kelly, an 11-year veteran of Ingram Micro, is the architect of the IMpulse system, which supports more than 40 operational functions, including inventory management, order processing, shipping, receiving and accounting. This system is used in all of Ingram Micro's operations, and has both multilingual and multicurrency capabilities as well as the capacity to support every operational function including finance, sales, logistics and related services.
