Dukes said, "I am extremely fortunate to be in a position where I can retire from my active role with Ingram Micro to spend more time with my wife and our children. However, I do plan to stay very much involved in the industry as a strong proponent of the channel, focusing on crucial initiatives such as the establishment of electronic commerce standards."
"David has been a dynamic leader in the evolution of the wholesale distribution channel," said Jerre L. Stead, chairman and chief executive officer, "as well as a key spokesperson on issues that have shaped the industry. We are very pleased with his commitment to remain involved in the industry, and are very grateful for the many contributions he has made to the channel and to our company.
