Ingram Micro Announces Executive Changes in Europe; Ellett Promoted to EVP; Grambo Named COO

SANTA ANA, Calif., June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE:IM) , the world's leading wholesale distributor of technology products and services, today announced the promotion of Philip D. Ellett, 44, from senior vice president and president, Ingram Micro Europe, to executive vice president and president, Ingram Micro Europe. In addition, Robert D. Grambo, 34, senior vice president, telesales, has been named senior vice president and chief operating officer, Ingram Micro Europe, reporting to Ellett.

Ellett joined the company in January 1996, as senior vice president and general manager of Ingram Micro's Consumer Markets Division (CMD) from South Carolina-based Gates F.A., where he served as president and chief executive officer. He then served as senior vice president and chief operating officer of the company's European operations. In May 1997, he was promoted to president of Ingram Micro Europe. Under his leadership, the European region's operating income increased by 90 percent in 1997 from 1996. In his new role, Ellett will focus on strategic planning and acquisition activities; and he will be directly responsibility for the legal, human resources and finance organizations of Ingram Micro Europe.

Grambo joined Ingram Micro in 1987 and has served in several executive roles in the areas of purchasing, product marketing and sales. As senior vice president, he was responsible for telesales, sales operations, vendor sales, technical support, customer service and CMD for Ingram Micro's largest region. From 1994 to 1997, he helped lead the U.S. sales organization to increase revenue from $4.1 billion to $11.5 billion.

Grambo will be relocating from Santa Ana to Brussels, and will oversee sales, marketing, purchasing and operations, and all in-country organizations with the exception of Germany, which will report directly to Ellett. Gregory J. Hawkins, senior vice president, global sales, will assume Grambo's U.S. responsibilities in addition to his current leadership role for global sales opportunities and U.S. field sales. Hawkins reports to Sanat K. Dutta, executive vice president and president, Ingram Micro U.S.
