Ingram Micro Adds Microsoft Open Value to Click2License Web Tool,
Further Simplifying Software Licensing Sales

Distribution Leader Makes it Easier for Solution Providers to Manage, Sell and Service Software Licensing Solutions With Enhanced Click2License Web Tool

SANTA ANA, Calif., Aug. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Committed to offering solution providers the widest online selection of software licensing available from an IT distributor, Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) announced the next generation of its Click2License Web-based licensing and services tool. The upgraded version features Microsoft Open Value Software and added service functionality that is designed to simplify software licensing sales and make it easier and more profitable for solution providers and vendors to do business with Ingram Micro.

"The ability to easily sell software licensing generates significant margin for our business partners, and that is what we're focused on - helping our customers make more money," said Pat Collins, senior group vice president, marketing and sales, Ingram Micro North America. "Market trends indicate a growing shift from box sales to license sales. These new Web tool enhancements are the first in a series of initiatives that will address this demand trend and enable our customers and vendor partners to help businesses build and increase efficiencies through licensed software deployment."

According to IDC August 2003 data, the software applications market is expected to grow from $83.1 billion in 2002 to $108.6 billion in 2007, generating an average compound growth rate of 5.5 percent annually. "We see this as an opportunity for our customers to capture market growth and drive costs out, while pulling profits in," said Collins.

Available immediately at www.ingrammicro.com, Ingram Micro's next generation tool offers Software Advisors and their customers an easy, efficient, and cost-effective means to purchase Microsoft's Open Value licenses online. In addition to online forms, the Web tool eases the sales cycle by:

      * Allowing full online ordering with a step-by-step process for
         Software Advisors and their customers.

      * Providing three methods to search for licenses and three methods of
         payment in an agent-based model.

      * Giving Software Advisors and their customers the ability to accept
         program terms and conditions online.

      * Providing Software Advisors the ability to receive license renewal
