Darren Gottesmann Named One of the Channel’s “100 People You Don’t Know But Should”

Ingram Micro SMB sales leader recognized for his innovative and inspiring go-to-market strategies for channel partner success

IRVINE, Calif. – Oct. 12, 2017 – Ingram Micro Inc. is pleased to announce Darren Gottesmann, director of Sales for Ingram Micro’s U.S. SMB business unit, has been recognized by  CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, as one of the “100 People You Don’t Know But Should” in the IT channel for 2017.

With more than two decades of channel sales experience, Gottesmann oversees the vision and strategy for Ingram Micro’s SMB group, which serves 20,000-plus channel partners across the U.S., and includes Ingram Micro’s growing partner community the SMB Alliance. Under Gottesmann’s leadership, Ingram Micro’s SMB business has experienced double-digit, year-over-year growth and become the top selling U.S. market segment for Ingram Micro Cloud, accounting for more than 40 percent of the region’s cloud revenues.

“Darren and his team understand the IT business needs of small and mid-size businesses, and have invested in the relationships, resources and results channel partners need to confidently say yes to their customers and make exceeding their expectations business as usual,” said Kirk Robinson, senior vice president of Go-to-Market for Ingram Micro. “It is great to see CRN recognize Darren and other business leaders in our industry who are working hard to get it done right and further enable the success of channel partners.”

The CRN editorial team, assessing feedback from solution providers and other industry executives, compiles the annual list to celebrate under-the-radar channel management team members from the industry’s top vendors and distributors. Those selected have worked tirelessly to create, promote and manage programs and policies that support and advance the IT channel.

“A number of unsung channel heroes work hard every day to drive innovation, profits and successful partnerships, holding the IT ecosystem’s equilibrium steady and keeping it on a path to growth,” said Robert Faletra, CEO of The Channel Company. “They may not often share the spotlight with more high-profile channel figures, but the difference they make is irrefutable. We are pleased to shine a light on these individuals with CRN’s 2017 list of 100 People You Don’t Know But Should and to honor their essential contributions to the channel.”

The 2017 list of 100 People You Don’t Know But Should will be featured in the October issue of CRN and can be viewed online at www.crn.com/100people.
