Computer City to Retail NDC Communications, SOHOware Line of Easy, Affordable Small Business Networking Products

Multimillion Distribution Agreement With Ingram Micro Places SOHOware in Computer City Stores Throughout North America

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- NDC Communications Inc. today announced that Computer City of Fort Worth, Texas, will carry the company's line of user-friendly and affordable local area network (LAN) products for small businesses and home offices (SOHO) throughout North America. Under terms of the distribution agreement, Ingram Micro of Santa Ana, Calif. will be the exclusive distributor of NDC's SOHOware network products for Computer City stores.

Designed to remove the complexity of building a small business network, NDC's new SOHOware(TM) products are simple, easy-to-use and cost-effective. SOHOware networking products are also designed with convenient migration/expansion paths for growing small businesses.

"The NDC SOHOware products were the perfect solution to help me network my office," said Jim Thomas, Springfield, Ore. "The SOHOware products are so easy to install and use that we were able to take advantage of the benefits of networking almost immediately."

"Small businesses represent the fastest growing segment of the North American economy but the vast majority of these businesses aren't networked," said Dick Donnelly, vice president of merchandising, Computer City. "When small business owners decide to network, they want simplicity and an affordable price. We believe NDC's SOHOware is an excellent solution."

"NDC's SOHOware is a great addition to Ingram Micro's consumer product offerings," said David Nalley, vice president and general manager of Ingram Micro's consumer markets division. "We are pleased to bring NDC's easy-to- use, cost-effective solutions to our reseller markets."

"We are excited to partner with both Ingram Micro and Computer City," said Andy Chang, vice president of marketing at NDC Communications. "The SOHO category is one of the industry's fastest growing segments. We are excited to partner with leaders such as Ingram Micro and Computer City. Their efforts will help drive the growth of NDC's small office/home office networking in the years ahead."

According to a recent Computer Intelligence survey of offices with about 100 PCs, only 13 percent of the respondents reported having a network installed. NDC's target market is helping small offices and home office-based business -- typically organizations from two to 20 users -- enjoy the benefits of networking. NDC's solution is its SOHOware family of products that eventually will take small business networks from "wired to wireless" solutions from 10Mbps to 100Mbps networking speeds. The SOHOware products are designed to be so easy to install that even users with no special knowledge of networking can build a small business network in a matter of minutes.
