Ingram Micro Raises More Than $250,000 from Associates and Partners to Support Local Organizations

IT Business Leader Continues Tradition of Buffalo Philanthropic Efforts by Hosting 22nd Annual Golf Tournament

BUFFALO, NY – August 29, 2017 – On Saturday, August 12, the Buffalo office of Ingram Micro Inc. hosted its 22nd Annual East Coast Charity Golf Tournament at The Links at Ivy Ridge in Akron, NY. The annual fundraising event raised more than $250,000 that will benefit three local charities:

  • Child & Family Services Haven House – Erie County’s only licensed domestic violence shelter, whose primary mission is to interrupt the cycle of domestic violence and provide community based services to adult and child victims.

  • Hospice Buffalo: Essential Care for Children – A program that provides comprehensive home-based palliative care services to children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses, while also supporting their families throughout the process.

  • Roswell Park Cancer Institute – One of the nation’s top cancer treatment centers, where they put a focus on providing a comprehensive range of services to help patients and their loved ones cope with the concerns and struggles of cancer treatment.

"The Buffalo community continues to be an integral part of Ingram Micro's history, and this annual golf tournament is a fun and interactive way for our team to make a positive difference in the lives of others," said John Fago, senior director of global vendor management for Ingram Micro and the executive sponsor for the golf event. "Our entire Buffalo team is committed to being an ongoing leading contributor to Western New York – where we work, live, and play and that wouldn’t be possible without the support of our associates, vendor partners, and community.”

This year's event included 144 golfers and was made possible by a team of more than 50 volunteers, as well as the support of the event's major sponsors including Cisco, Dell/EMC and more than 20 others. Ingram Micro also received exceptional support and partnership once again from Santoras Pizza Pub & Grill. In conjunction with the golf tournament, and in alliance with ADPRO Sports, Ingram Micro also hosted a community BBQ and tent sale on Friday, August 11 at its Williamsville offices. The event, which was open to the public, included food trucks from Lloyds, The CheeseChicks and Sweet Melody’s and a basket raffle and silent auction featuring items donated by manufacturer partners and Ingram Micro associates.
